TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE AND SUBSCRIPTION

Last updated: 1 September 2026

These Terms and Conditions of Use and Subscription (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the website at nomos.cy, the Nomos.cy platform and the services, information and functionality made available through them (collectively, “Nomos” or the “Service”).

Nomos is operated by NOMCY LIMITED, a company incorporated in the Republic of Cyprus under registration number HE 490480, having its registered office at 11 Michail Paridi, 1095 Nicosia, Cyprus (“Nomos”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

Our contact details are:
Email: mail@nomos.cy
Address: 11 Michail Paridi, 1095 Nicosia, Cyprus

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you use Nomos on behalf of a company, law firm, organisation or other legal person, you confirm that you have authority to act on its behalf.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights which cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under applicable consumer protection legislation.

1. ABOUT NOMOS

1.1 The Service

Nomos is a digital legal and regulatory information service designed to help users identify, monitor and understand legal and regulatory developments relevant to them.

Depending on the subscription and functionality available from time to time, the Service may include:

  • access to legislation, regulations, regulatory materials, consultation documents, bills and other legal or regulatory materials;

  • search and filtering tools;

  • categorisation of materials by industry, area of law, issuing authority, instrument type, enactment stage or other criteria;

  • personalised regulatory monitoring;

  • personalised newsletters, notifications and regulatory updates;

  • summaries of legislation and regulatory developments;

  • English and Greek content, summaries or translations;

  • saved searches, bookmarks and other personalisation features;

  • links or references to official sources;

  • artificial intelligence-assisted search, summarisation, classification, translation, recommendation and other functionality; and

  • other related legal-information and regulatory-intelligence services introduced by us from time to time.

1.2 Personalisation

Nomos allows users to select industries, areas of law, topics and other preferences relevant to them.

The Service may use these selections, together with other relevant account settings and interactions with the Service, to determine which regulatory developments, documents, newsletters, alerts or other information are presented or recommended to a user.

Personalisation is intended to reduce irrelevant information and assist users in identifying developments that may be of interest to them. It does not guarantee that every development relevant to a particular user, business, transaction, activity or circumstance will be identified.

2. IMPORTANT NATURE OF THE SERVICE

2.1 Information service — not legal advice

Nomos is an information and regulatory-intelligence service.

Nomos does not provide legal, regulatory, tax, financial, investment or other professional advice.

No information, summary, notification, search result, AI-generated output, classification, translation, newsletter or other content available through Nomos should be treated as:

  • legal advice;

  • a legal opinion;

  • a substitute for reviewing the applicable legislation or official source;

  • a determination of a person’s legal or regulatory obligations;

  • confirmation that a particular law or regulatory development applies or does not apply to a particular person or situation; or

  • a substitute for advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

2.2 Professional judgement remains necessary

Legal and regulatory requirements frequently depend upon facts, circumstances, interpretation, transitional provisions, exemptions, regulatory practice and subsequent developments.

Users remain responsible for determining whether information available through Nomos is relevant to their circumstances and for obtaining professional advice where appropriate.

2.3 No professional relationship

Use of Nomos does not create a lawyer-client, adviser-client, fiduciary or other professional relationship between a user and Nomos or any person associated with Nomos.

3. SOURCES AND OFFICIAL MATERIALS

3.1 Sources

Nomos may collect, index, organise, reproduce, extract information from, summarise or link to materials originating from official and other sources, including legislation, official gazettes, government departments, regulatory authorities and public consultation portals.

3.2 Official sources prevail

Where Nomos provides access to or information concerning legislation, regulations, regulatory materials or other official documents, the relevant official publication or legally authoritative text prevails in the event of any discrepancy.

Users should consult the original official source where accuracy, legal status, commencement, amendment history or precise wording is material.

3.3 Consolidation and amendment status

Where Nomos identifies amendments, consolidated legislation, enactment status or relationships between legal instruments, such information is provided as an information aid.

Unless expressly identified as an official consolidated text, users should not assume that a document displayed through Nomos constitutes an official or legally authoritative consolidation.

4. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

4.1 Use of AI

Nomos uses or may use artificial intelligence and automated technologies in providing parts of the Service.

AI may assist with functions including:

  • summarising legal and regulatory documents;

  • identifying or extracting relevant information;

  • categorising and tagging documents;

  • identifying relationships between documents;

  • search and information retrieval;

  • translation;

  • generating regulatory updates and newsletters;

  • matching developments to users’ selected industries, areas of law or interests;

  • ranking or prioritising information;

  • detecting potentially relevant regulatory developments; and

  • generating other explanatory or informational content.

4.2 Identification of AI-generated content

Where required by applicable law, Nomos will provide appropriate information indicating that users are interacting with an AI system or that particular content has been generated or materially assisted by AI.

Labels or other indicators may therefore appear within the Service.

4.3 AI limitations

Artificial intelligence systems are probabilistic technologies and may produce incorrect, incomplete, misleading, outdated or otherwise unreliable results.

In particular, AI-generated content may:

  • misunderstand legal terminology or context;

  • omit relevant provisions, exceptions or qualifications;

  • incorrectly identify the effect of an amendment;

  • incorrectly classify a document;

  • provide an inaccurate translation;

  • fail to identify a relevant regulatory development;

  • incorrectly infer relationships between legal instruments; or

  • generate statements which are not supported by the underlying source.

Users should therefore treat AI-generated or AI-assisted content as an information and research aid, rather than as an authoritative statement of law.

4.4 Source verification

Where the Service provides access to the underlying source document, users should review that source before relying upon an AI-generated summary or analysis for any material legal, regulatory, compliance, commercial or professional purpose.

4.5 Human review

Nomos may use human review, editorial review or quality-control processes in relation to certain content. The extent of such review may differ between different types of content.

The presence of human or editorial review does not constitute a representation that content is legally complete or appropriate for a user’s particular circumstances.

4.6 No automated legal decision-making on behalf of users

Nomos does not make legal or regulatory compliance decisions on behalf of users.

A user remains responsible for decisions taken on the basis of information obtained through the Service.

5. REGULATORY ALERTS, NEWSLETTERS AND PERSONALISED UPDATES

5.1 Personalised monitoring

Users may select industries, areas of law, topics or other criteria for personalised monitoring.

Nomos may use those selections to identify and deliver regulatory developments which its systems determine may be relevant.

5.2 No guarantee of completeness

Although Nomos is designed to assist users in keeping up to date with regulatory change, no monitoring system can guarantee that every potentially relevant legal or regulatory development will be identified or delivered to a particular user.

A notification, newsletter or alert should not therefore be treated as a complete statement of all developments affecting the user.

5.3 Timing

There may be a delay between:

  • publication of an official document;

  • its discovery or retrieval by Nomos;

  • processing, classification or review of the document; and

  • delivery of a notification or newsletter to users.

Nomos does not guarantee real-time notification unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular Service.

5.4 User selections

The relevance of personalised updates depends partly upon the industries, areas of law and other preferences selected by the user.

Users are responsible for maintaining their selections and account preferences so that they accurately reflect the matters they wish to monitor.

6. TRANSLATIONS

Nomos may make content available in Greek and English and may use automated or AI-assisted translation.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, translations provided by Nomos are provided for convenience and information purposes.

Where the original official document is published in a particular language, the legally authoritative version is the version determined by applicable law.

Users should not rely solely upon an automated translation where the precise legal meaning of a provision is material.

7. ACCOUNTS

7.1 Registration

Certain parts of the Service require a registered account.

You must provide accurate and current information when registering and must update that information where necessary.

7.2 Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity carried out through your account.

You must notify us promptly at support@nomos.cy if you become aware of unauthorised access to or use of your account.

7.3 Individual accounts

Unless your subscription expressly provides otherwise, each user account is personal to the registered user and may not be shared.

You may not permit another person to use your login credentials in order to avoid purchasing an additional subscription.

7.4 Corporate subscriptions

Where an organisation purchases multiple user subscriptions:

  • each authorised user may be required to maintain an individual account;

  • the organisation may designate one or more account administrators;

  • administrators may be able to add or remove authorised users and manage subscription settings;

  • the organisation is responsible for ensuring that its authorised users comply with these Terms; and

  • additional contractual terms agreed with the organisation will prevail over these Terms to the extent of any inconsistency.

8. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract to purchase a subscription.

Nomos is principally designed for adults and professional, business, academic and regulatory users and is not directed specifically at children.

9. SUBSCRIPTIONS

9.1 Subscription plans

The features, subscription period and price applicable to each subscription are those displayed to the user before purchase or otherwise agreed in writing.

9.2 Monthly and annual subscriptions

Nomos may offer monthly, annual, corporate, promotional, trial or other subscription arrangements.

The applicable billing period will be clearly identified before purchase.

9.3 Commencement

Unless otherwise stated, access begins when payment is successfully completed or when Nomos otherwise activates the subscription.

9.4 Automatic renewal

Where a subscription is described at the point of purchase as automatically renewing, it will renew for successive periods of the applicable duration until cancelled.

Before the user enters into the subscription, Nomos will clearly disclose the applicable price, billing frequency, subscription duration and renewal and cancellation arrangements.

9.5 Cancellation of renewal

Users may cancel future renewal through the account functionality made available by Nomos or by contacting us at mail@nomos.cy.

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, cancellation of renewal takes effect at the end of the current paid subscription period and the user may continue using the Service until that date.

9.6 Price changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time.

A price change will not retrospectively affect a subscription period already paid for.

Where an automatically renewing subscription is affected, we will provide reasonable advance notice of the new price before it applies. Where required by applicable consumer law, the user will have the right to terminate the subscription before the new price takes effect.

10. PAYMENT

Subscription charges are payable using the payment methods displayed during checkout.

Prices will be displayed inclusive or exclusive of VAT as required by applicable law and according to the status and location of the customer.

Payment processing may be provided by a third-party payment services provider.

Nomos does not necessarily receive or retain complete payment-card details.

If payment cannot be processed, we may suspend access to paid functionality until payment has been successfully completed.

11. CONSUMER RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

This section applies where you enter into a subscription as a consumer, meaning broadly a natural person acting for purposes outside his or her trade, business, craft or profession.

11.1 Fourteen-day withdrawal period

Subject to applicable law, a consumer entering into a distance contract has the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days from the date on which the contract is concluded, without giving any reason.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us by an unequivocal statement sent to:

mail@nomos.cy or by post to NOMCY LIMITED, 11 Michail Paridi, 1095 Nicosia, Cyprus

You may use the model withdrawal form set out at the end of these Terms, but you are not required to do so.

11.2 Immediate commencement of the Service

Where you request that provision of the Service begin during the 14-day withdrawal period, we may ask you expressly to request immediate commencement.

If you subsequently exercise your right of withdrawal during that period, you may be required, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to pay an amount proportionate to the Service supplied before you communicated your decision to withdraw.

11.3 Mandatory consumer rights

Nothing in this section affects any additional or different right available to you under mandatory consumer protection law.

12. DIGITAL SERVICE CONFORMITY AND CONSUMER REMEDIES

Where the mandatory provisions governing contracts for digital services apply, Nomos will supply the Service in conformity with the contract and applicable law.

Consumers may have statutory remedies where a digital service is not supplied or does not conform to the contract, including, where the applicable statutory conditions are satisfied:

  • bringing the Service into conformity;

  • a proportionate reduction in price; or

  • termination of the contract.

Any statutory right to reimbursement will be exercised within the periods required by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts those statutory rights.

13. CHANGES TO THE SERVICE

13.1 Continuous development

Nomos is a developing digital service. We may introduce, modify, replace or discontinue features in order to:

  • improve functionality or performance;

  • enhance security;

  • respond to changes in technology;

  • comply with law or regulatory requirements;

  • improve AI systems or information sources;

  • respond to changes in third-party services or data sources; or

  • develop the Service commercially.

13.2 Material changes

Where a change materially and negatively affects a paid consumer’s access to or use of the Service, we will provide notice and any termination or other rights required by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms removes any statutory right a consumer may have to terminate a digital-service contract following a qualifying modification.

14. ACCEPTABLE USE

You may use Nomos for lawful personal, professional or internal business purposes in accordance with your subscription.

You must not:

  • use the Service unlawfully or fraudulently;

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to Nomos or another user’s account;

  • interfere with the security, integrity or operation of the Service;

  • introduce malware or malicious code;

  • circumvent access controls, subscription restrictions or technical protection measures;

  • systematically scrape, crawl, harvest, download or extract content or data from Nomos by automated means except where expressly authorised by us or where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;

  • use multiple accounts or share credentials to circumvent subscription limits;

  • reproduce or redistribute substantial portions of the Nomos database;

  • resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute the Service or Nomos Content without our written permission;

  • falsely represent Nomos-generated information as an official government publication;

  • remove proprietary notices;

  • use the Service to infringe third-party rights; or

  • use Nomos in a manner which could materially impair the Service for other users.

15. USE OF NOMOS CONTENT

15.1 Nomos Content

For these Terms, “Nomos Content” means content, databases, taxonomy, classifications, summaries, explanatory materials, newsletter content, graphical elements, software, interface design and other materials created or made available by Nomos, excluding underlying third-party or public-sector materials in which Nomos does not own intellectual property rights.

15.2 Licence to users

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable subscription charges, Nomos grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to access and use Nomos Content for your personal or internal professional or business purposes.

15.3 Reasonable professional use

You may quote reasonable extracts from Nomos-generated content in internal documents and professional work product, provided that such use does not amount to reproduction or commercial redistribution of the Service or a substantial part of its database.

15.4 Underlying materials

Legislation, official publications and third-party materials may be subject to separate copyright, database, public-sector-information or licensing regimes.

Nothing in these Terms purports to confer ownership upon Nomos of material which is in the public domain or belongs to a third party.

16. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Nomos name, logo, branding, platform, software, database structure, taxonomy, original summaries, selection and arrangement of content and other proprietary materials are owned by or licensed to Nomos and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

No rights are granted except those expressly stated in these Terms.

17. USER INPUTS

Where the Service allows users to submit search queries, preferences, saved searches, prompts, feedback or other information (“User Inputs”), you retain any rights you may have in those User Inputs.

You grant Nomos the rights reasonably necessary to process User Inputs for the purpose of operating, securing, maintaining and providing the Service.

The handling of personal data contained in User Inputs is governed by our Privacy Policy.

You should not submit confidential, privileged, commercially sensitive or third-party personal information into AI-enabled functionality unless the relevant functionality is expressly designed for that purpose and you are authorised to provide such information.

18. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY

Nomos processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 – GDPR) and applicable Cyprus legislation.

Detailed information concerning:

  • the identity of the controller;

  • categories of personal data processed;

  • purposes and legal bases of processing;

  • recipients and processors;

  • international transfers;

  • retention periods;

  • cookies and similar technologies, where applicable; and

  • data-subject rights

is provided in the Nomos.cy Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy forms a separate transparency document and is not incorporated into these Terms so as to convert data-protection information or consent into contractual terms.

19. SERVICE AVAILABILITY

We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

The Service may occasionally be unavailable because of:

  • maintenance;

  • software updates;

  • security incidents;

  • infrastructure or hosting failures;

  • internet or telecommunications failures;

  • failures of third-party suppliers;

  • changes to or interruption of official data sources; or

  • events outside our reasonable control.

Where reasonably practicable, we will seek to minimise material interruptions.

20. ACCURACY AND CURRENCY

Nomos takes reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the Service to maintain the quality and currency of its information.

However, because the Service processes large volumes of legal and regulatory material from multiple sources, we do not represent that every item will at all times be:

  • complete;

  • error-free;

  • immediately updated;

  • correctly classified;

  • correctly translated;

  • correctly summarised; or

  • relevant to every user’s circumstances.

This section does not exclude obligations or remedies which cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights concerning conformity of digital services.

21. THIRD-PARTY SOURCES AND LINKS

Nomos may contain links to government websites, regulators, public databases and other third-party resources.

Links are provided for convenience and source verification.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Nomos does not control those websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, content or privacy practices.

A link does not imply endorsement by Nomos.

22. FEEDBACK AND ERROR REPORTING

Users are encouraged to report suspected errors, missing materials or incorrect classifications, summaries or translations through the available system functionality or by email to mail@nomos.cy.

Nomos may investigate and correct reported content but does not undertake to implement every suggestion or correction requested by a user.

23. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

23.1 By the user

A user may cancel renewal of a subscription in accordance with section 9.

23.2 By Nomos

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary if:

  • subscription charges remain unpaid;

  • a user materially breaches these Terms;

  • an account is used fraudulently or unlawfully;

  • use of the account presents a material security risk;

  • continued provision would breach applicable law; or

  • a user materially interferes with the operation of the Service.

Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach before termination.

23.3 Consumer contracts

Any suspension or termination of a consumer contract will remain subject to mandatory consumer protection law.

24. EFFECT OF TERMINATION

Following termination or expiry:

  • the user’s right to access subscription-only functionality ends;

  • the account may be closed or converted to any free service then available;

  • access to saved searches, bookmarks, preferences or other account functionality may cease; and

  • personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Where applicable law gives a consumer the right to retrieve content provided or created by that consumer in connection with a digital service, Nomos will comply with that requirement.

25. LIABILITY

25.1 Non-excludable liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation and any mandatory liability or consumer remedy imposed by applicable law.

25.2 Business users

If you use Nomos wholly or mainly for business or professional purposes, Nomos will not be liable, to the maximum extent permitted by law, for:

  • loss of profits;

  • loss of revenue;

  • loss of business;

  • loss of opportunity;

  • loss of anticipated savings;

  • loss of goodwill;

  • loss or corruption of data; or

  • indirect or consequential loss,

arising from use of or inability to use the Service.

Subject to section 25.1, Nomos’s aggregate liability to a business user arising from or relating to a subscription shall not exceed the subscription fees paid or payable by that user during the one (1) month immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

25.3 Consumer users

Where you are a consumer, our liability is subject to the rights and remedies available to you under mandatory consumer law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability to a consumer where doing so would be unlawful or unfair.

25.4 Reliance on regulatory information

Subject always to sections 25.1 and 25.3, Nomos is not responsible for a decision made solely in reliance upon an AI-generated summary, personalised alert, translation or other secondary information without appropriate consideration of the underlying source and, where appropriate, professional advice.

26. FORCE MAJEURE

We will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform an obligation caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including major telecommunications failures, cloud infrastructure failures, cyberattacks, governmental action, natural disasters, war, civil disturbance or interruption of an external official information source.

This provision does not affect mandatory consumer rights.

27. COMMUNICATIONS

Service communications relating to your account, security, subscriptions, changes to the Service or these Terms may be sent electronically, including by email or through notices within the Service.

Marketing communications will be sent in accordance with applicable law and the preferences available to you.

Personalised regulatory newsletters and alerts which form part of a subscribed Service may constitute service communications rather than marketing communications where their purpose is to provide the functionality requested by the user.

28. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may amend these Terms where reasonably necessary because of:

  • changes to the Service;

  • changes in applicable law;

  • regulatory requirements;

  • security requirements;

  • changes in technology; or

  • reasonable changes to our commercial arrangements.

For material changes affecting an existing paid subscription, we will provide reasonable advance notice.

Where mandatory law gives a consumer a right to terminate because of a change, that right will not be affected by this section.

The version displayed on Nomos will identify the date on which it was last updated.

29. ELECTRONIC CONTRACTING

Before a paid subscription is completed, the user will be given an opportunity to review the relevant subscription, price and material contractual information and to correct input errors.

Where required by law, Nomos will acknowledge an electronic order without undue delay.

The subscription contract is concluded when payment is successfully processed and Nomos sends confirmation.

A copy or confirmation of the contractual information will be provided on a durable medium where required by applicable law.

The languages in which the contract may be concluded are English and Greek.

30. ACCESSIBILITY

Nomos aims to make its digital services accessible to as wide a range of users as reasonably practicable, including users with disabilities.

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of the Service, please contact us at mail@nomos.cy.

31. COMPLAINTS

If you have a complaint concerning the Service, please contact:

Email: mail@nomos.cy
Address: 11 Michail Paridi, 1095 Nicosia, Cyprus

We will seek to address complaints fairly and within a reasonable period.

Where you are a consumer, you may also have access to an authorised alternative dispute resolution body or other consumer redress mechanism under applicable law.

Nothing in this section restricts your right to bring proceedings before a competent court.

32. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from or connected with them are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.

Where the user is acting in the course of a business or profession, the courts of the Republic of Cyprus shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any alternative jurisdiction expressly agreed in writing.

Where the user is a consumer habitually resident in another Member State of the European Union, this choice of law does not deprive the consumer of any protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law which would otherwise apply.

Nothing in these Terms limits any jurisdictional rights available to a consumer under applicable law.

33. GENERAL

33.1 Entire agreement

For business users, these Terms together with the subscription information and any separate written agreement with Nomos constitute the agreement governing use of the Service.

This provision does not exclude liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation and does not restrict mandatory consumer rights.

33.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.

33.3 No waiver

Failure by Nomos to enforce a provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

33.4 Assignment

Users may not transfer their subscription or contractual rights without our consent, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Nomos may transfer its rights and obligations as part of a corporate reorganisation, financing, merger, acquisition or transfer of the Service, provided that this does not reduce mandatory rights of consumers.

33.5 Third-party rights

Unless expressly stated otherwise, no person other than the parties to the contract has a right to enforce these Terms.

IMPORTANT AI INFORMATION FOR USERS

Nomos uses artificial intelligence to assist in processing large volumes of legal and regulatory information.

AI may be used to summarise, classify, translate, retrieve, rank and personalise information.

Users should remember:

  1. AI can make mistakes. A summary may omit or incorrectly describe relevant information.

  2. Check the source. Where the precise legal position matters, review the underlying official document.

  3. Personalisation is not a compliance determination. A document not appearing in your personalised updates does not mean that it is irrelevant to you.

  4. Nomos is not legal advice. The Service helps you identify and understand regulatory developments but does not determine your legal obligations.

  5. Professional judgement remains important. Obtain appropriate professional advice where a legal or regulatory issue is material to you or your organisation.

Suspected errors may be reported to mail@nomos.cy.
